Strange - I have been running it for a couple of weeks now with no issues.

Interestingly, I updated my NVR firmware today (to the latest V4.21.000 build190423) and now my notifications indicate the specific camera name that triggered the alert again :).

I use 2 4TB WD40PURZ drives without issue.

This changed for me a month or two ago. I think that Hikvision probably made an update on their servers because just before this change occurred, my NVR was showing as offline in the app for a few hours but when it came back online, the notifications did exactly what you are describing.

A reboot hasn't resolved this for me either.

I suffer with this as well on a couple of my cameras which are 8mp as well. My bandwidth is around 15Mb uplink so bandwidth is not the issue. All are on the latest firmware as is my NVR. I will try rebooting to see if it resolves the issue.

H265+ is indeed very good. I installed six 8MP cameras and a NVR with two 4TB disks a month and a half ago. I just checked and there is still 1.2TB remaining on the 1st disk (the second disk hasn't even been used yet). Pretty impressive indeed!

My DS-7608NI-I2-8P NVR has 2 USB ports, but you typically wouldn't bother using USB devices to update firmware. I do this using my web browser.

Yes, having configured these recently I can confirm that they do help to reduce the number of false alarms but don't eliminate them.
