It's annoying... the different revisions might as well have different model numbers.

    DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/S - Firmware_V5.04.027_241213 Won't Update

Hi... it looks like there are two revisions (C) and (E) of that NVR... do you know which revision you have?

Live view lagging on internal tablets

^^^^^^ yes And if you haven't already make sure you check this: It's really annoying... if it's on, Hik-connect actually changes (lowers) your sub-stream settings when you connect.

Live view lagging on internal tablets

You can set them on the camera's web GUI directly or on the NVR... here are the setting on the camera directly: Also, if this issue is bandwidth/Wi-Fi speed, H.265 is better because it will compress the stream more... If the issue is the Fire tablets struggling to keep up/decode, then H.264...

Live view lagging on internal tablets

There's no middle ground... but you can try using the max sub-stream resolution (probably 1280x720P for the sub-stream). Also, ensure that "Adaptive Bitrate Streaming" is not checked on the "Network/Platform Access/Hik-connect/More Options" page of the NVR... if it is checked, when you use the...

Live view lagging on internal tablets

It's either a bandwidth issue or the android devices are struggling to decode the stream maybe. Are you using the "Basic" or "HD" setting in Hik-connect? The "Basic" setting would probably suffice. You can also try toggling "Hardware Decoding Preferred"... if it's on try turning it off... if...

    Hik-vision gone offline

While the laptop is plugged in, make sure it can access the Internet... google or anything. And where exactly are you plugging the laptop in?

    Hik-vision gone offline

Plug the laptop in via ethernet again... then check the IP configuration on the laptop... we want to know what the IP address and default gateway are on the laptop when it is plugged in there... you can find this by typing "ipconfig /all" at a command prompt or looking in settings here:

    Hik-vision gone offline

As @JB1970 states, the internal NIC IPv4 address 192.168.1.11 is odd but if it was working before, we won't mess with that. That sounds like a PoE switch. That's the NVR, for sure. I'm not familiar with powerline adapters... I can only assume that you are correct, and they are working. In...

    Firmware M Series 5.04.020_241106 Released - Issues/Avoid

Mine show markers for smart events (line crossing, intrusion detection, etc.), but not for basic motion detection... the next M series firmware release is scheduled for "after Christmas"... maybe it will be fixed with that.

Minor problem after a power cut.

It's that overscan issue I mentioned above... part of the image is off the screen.

Minor problem after a power cut.

If you right click with the mouse connected to the NVR, you should see a menu pop up, then select "Full Screen"... that will get rid of the icons and the left margin... right click again and select "Exit Full Screen" to get the icons/menus back... Do you see how the picture is off the screen...

Minor problem after a power cut.

Use the buttons on the monitor (or remote control if it has one) to go into the monitor menus and set the correct monitor resolution... "correct" is whatever it was before the power cut. If you can log into the NVR GUI from your PC... there should be settings similar to these that tell you what...
