The same model without -W at the end have everything. the -W version is value version cheaper 2x
Theres nothing wrong with Hikvision. Its resller you should be after for not giving full disclosure on how camera operate.
I had this scenario 2 times. Both faced different issue
1st client used old lock which pulled strong current , relay upon opening sticked and didnt want to release basicly fried
2nd client added huge unlock time and forgot to mention ....
I believe both camera and nvr has to support acuseek to work. I might be wrong. I believe the Camera sends realtime metadata so acuseek NVR can store those metadata and serach it later for fast display.

it means you skipped password recovery in wizzard.
There is no hard reset with this device.
Either extract xml via sadp tool and mail it to installer or hikvison
Or flash firmware via tftp it might reset itself

Using Batch Configuration Tool you need to disable new security on camera in order to connect to this old NVR
Add camera to BCT and press More and under security put Close
Then you can add it
