Hello everyone I have just added the DS-2CD2347G3-LI2YU-SL to my home and everything is working fine but I’m struggling with the VCA on this channel.

I have set up the line crossing parameters via virtual host like I have on the other cameras I have up but the VCA lines aren’t showing within HikConnect with it enabled.

There is blue lines around the whole of the image but I’m unsure what it is as I have only set up line crossing and nothing else, and I have not been getting notifications even though notify surveillance centre is ticked

I have took a screenshot below but it might be a bit hard to make out the blue lines

And help at all is appreciated , thanks.

If the camera is connected to an NVR the ‘Notify surveillance centre’ option in the cameras config (which is enabled by default) has no effect (unless you have it separately connected to Hik-Connect directly). Set ‘Notify surveillance centre’ on the NVR in the alarm actions for your line crossing.

Hello JB and thanks for the reply, the line crossing detection works as in it triggers and I get the notification etc , but I mean I don't know why the lines I set aren't showing within the picture like the others do, I just like to be able to see what triggered the event and what the camera is highlighting with the green/red box , thanks.

I looked at mine as I recently switched to that model. I’ve never had the lines as I have them switched off in the app. When I turned them on (Me > Settings > Display VCA Rule) in Hik-Connect, they appeared for all cameras including the new G3 Colour-Vu. Try logging out and closing the app completely, rebooting the NVR, opening the app and logging in again. That sometimes sorts issues in HC when cameras have been swapped out.

Yeah it’s strange as the others work fine , how do you shut down your NVR when not connected to a monitor? Just flick the switch at the back? I don’t want to nack the hard drive up lol.

A restart (reboot) from the maintenance menu will suffice. I’ve never harmed an NVR/DVR yet by simply flicking the switch though

Okay mate thanks I'll give that a go and hopefully it works.

What is strange is when I click the sub-stream symbol within virtual host it shows up the lines I have set.
